Ducklings class are on a journey to Rio. We have travelled through the rainforests and found out about the animals that live there, listened to the sounds of the forest and made our own rainmakers. We are reading the book ‘The Great Kapok Tree’ and were very worried about what might happen if it was chopped down. We have written to the man to persuade him to leave the tree alone and explained our reasons why. We have made sculptures of bees from the story and drawn animals from photographs. Our next stop is the Amazon River where hope to wade through the swamp lands hunting for Anacondas. We can’t believe how long they can grow. Poppy needed a lot of bricks to show how long her snake was!
